how long does it take for embassy to give visa? husband got the phone call on 11-11-09 to send in his passport. he is in damascus,syria. can anyone give me any ifo on this?

Did they tell him to send it so that they could issue the visa? Call DOS and ask them the status. They will tell you if the visa has been issued. Unfortunately DOS won't be open again until Monday.

If you want to try, you can email the consulate. The embassy will be open again Sunday...so email them today or tomorrow and hopefully when you wake up Sunday morning you will have a response from the embassy.
