aulakh is a surname used in both western india and pakistan. could be hindu or muslim.

Your not going to win this argument. There is clearly a huge cultural difference between many in non-westernized nations. Such incidents are not the first. As are not someone mauling down their daughter for becoming to westernized. Same way we cannot have six wives, you cannot beat your wife hear and claim it was for religious reasons. Furthermore, this 'well others do it too' argument you guys use on every issue demonstrates you don't know what you are freagin talking about.

Well, I have been working with abused women for more than 5 years now; and i must say the ethnicities are at a par on both sides (offender and victim). So your argument does not hold either.

I don't know about "death by diversity", but it does seem clear that the usual suspects here have no compunctions about using this horrible crime and this woman's suffering to perpetuate their stale brand of bigotry.
