Visits to USA on VWP after case complete but prior to interview

We finally got a login failure so case complete is just around the bend. My husband and his mum will be coming for Thanksgiving next week. We do not have an interview date as yet but may by then. Is this likely to cause a problem at POE? I read about one person in Canada having a problem so I am not sure if it was an isolated incident or fairly common.

He will bring all the usual proof of a life back home (which no one ever asks for anyway).

Thanks!

I don't think it'll be a problem, mainly because he will be arriving with his mum. But of course, it's up to the customs officer. Bring all the proof and ties and he should be fine! Good luck!

That was probably me you were referring in who had a POE problem.

It wasn't a problem, per se, but I got the distinct impression that the border guard could tell that I was in the immigration process. She asked different questions than usual, and seemed rather reluctant to let me through. If I didn't have my return itinerary, I'm sure she would have denied me entry.

I'm a NEXUS pass user as well, which is generally a "free pass" lane 90% of the time...only requiring you to make eye contact with and greet the guard etc.

So just do what you'd normally do, but bring as many proof of ties as possible.

Actually I forgot the name but the one I read got denied entry and it sounded like a real nightmare with crying baby and all. I am hoping we wont have a problem. I'm thinking having proof of a mortgage and job at home, mum in law tagging along and a copy of retur tix and e ticket for Christmas visit that he will get in. The VWP has made life a lot easier.

I just booked a trip for mid-January to see my husband in Glasgow. Will only have 11 days, but that's better than nothing. Haven't seen him since early August so it's been a long time.

I'm sure your dinner will come out just fine. Hope your MIL enjoys it all!

I'll get in honey bunch. I love those nice officers in Boston and they love me. We are all becoming firm friends. In fact can you squeeze another couple of dozen people round the table for thanksgiving dinner?

11 days is about the longest we ever get together. I've really only seen the airport in Glasgow. Hope you have a nice visit.

Isn't a weegie when your pants are riding up?

LOL, yes, I married a weegie......and I still make him repeat himself every now and then.

Glasgow is an "interesting" city to say the least. I lived there for nearly a year and glad to have had that experience. You've got to have a tough hide to survive there tho'.

Once I applied at an employment agency when I moved back to CT. The interviewer looked at my resume and very seriously said, "Oh, I see you worked in Scotland. You must speak the language." OMG, I had such a hard time keeping a straight face! She had absolutely NO idea.

I seriously cannot understand why some people seem unable to understand a Scottish accent. I love how my husband sounds. I've told him if we ever have an argument all he has to do is say "bridge" lol
