In my haste to send in my N-400 application, I sent in VERY unflattering photos without the A# and my name on the back. What's the likelihood that they'll reject the application because of the lack of A# and name? And, if they don't reject my application can I give them 2 new photos at interview so I don't look dreadful on my naturalization certificate?

Yes you can, matter of fact, can also bring in a corrected copy of your N-400 and a wheelbarrow full of additional evidence. Appartently, your IO is trained to know that photo is of you and meets all of the DOS requirements for a passport type photo.

We followed the instructions to write the name and alien number on the rear of the photo in light pencil, wife was chewed out for that as her IO wanted just her name printed in ink on the left hand margin in her photo, but she did that at the interview, can really be a problem if you have a long name so wife had to print very small using two lines. But you can do this at your interview as the instructions do not state that. She had to print out her given, middle, and last name, good thing she dropped her maiden name, or would have had to print that in her face.

Hi Susieblue,

Yes, you are allowed to bring new photos to the interview (and in fact they recommend such, though not manditory). So yes, you can take those new more flattering photos to you for the interview for them to use. And more likely than not you will write your A# and sign the photos on the interview, so don't worry about the missing information now. And they will not reject your application because of that.

After all, you will have the certificate for the rest of your life....Might as well look good in them, right?

Hope this helps. Good luck with the rest of your journey too.
