Hi guys! So I read on here somewhere that if you go to login to www.immigrantvisas.state.gov using your Case # and Invoice ID # and you get an error message, that could mean your case is complete at NVC?

Did I understand that correctly or is there a different login? I'm so confused (what's new?!?! I went to login tonight - to the Invoice Payment Centre where I had payed my fees - and this was the message I got:

Sign In Failed

Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you believe that you have received this message in error.

I just don't like the way that sounds - "not eligible for further processing"! When I called last week, I was told that my DS-230 has been "approved" by NVC, but they had not reviewed my I-864 yet (it arrived a few days later)....so I hope/pray there's not a problem with that.

Thanks, as always, for the help/feedback!

Wow! I just thought the wording was strange, but woo hoo! That was fairly quick!

I'm so excited (and a little emotional with my raging pregnancy hormones - lol)! Now....I join everyone waiting 5 months for the interview in Montreal, I guess?! Unless I luck out and they start moving things along quicker there.

I remember from when I went through the process that cases were always completed on Wednesdays. I'm pretty sure one of us on this forum had tricked one of the NVC operators into letting this tidbit of info go, so it definitely sounds like good news!

Hmm...that's very interesting. I know that a number of us had sign in fail last Thursday, and I think Redmen99 had her sign in fail the previous Friday.

Not to shoot down your theory, though. It looks like they are often done in batches at least.

Rrrr...this process is so frustrating and such an emotional rollar-coaster! So I had the "sign in failure" notice yesterday when I went to login to the Payment Center. Then I call NVC today and the operator said "it looks like your case is still under review"! What the heck? I thought if I got a sign-in failure that was a good thing, meaning case complete? Am I not "signing in" at the right place?

Yes...don't worry about what the operator says, Blitz. 99% of the time you'll be fine. I haven't heard of any people who have had sign in fail but haven't had Case Complete shortly afterwards.

Likewise, don't put any stock in the AVR messages at NVC. They're usually a couple days or so behind.

You're good. Don't worry. :)

There is a final review between sign in failed and case complete.

Ohhhh, OK, thanks. Any idea if it's usually a quick final review? Do RFE's commonly come from the final review or the initial review? I know I'm asking questions that are probably impossible to know the answer to unless you work for NVC, but there are lots of well-informed people on here!

RFEs come BEFORE the sign in fail.

Again, I've never heard otherwise. Take it with a grain of salt...but a pretty confident grain of salt. ;)

Should be an email notification a few days later. Mine came the next afternoon after sign in fail.
