Hi guys

Recently someone with an interview in the last week or two posted a list of what Montreal asked them for and in what order... it was something like 'please assemble documents in the following order'

I can't for the life of me find it now, and it's irritating me because I want to get stuff in order.

Anyone?

I know there are umpteen lists of what to bring to the K-1, but I'm talking about when someone specifically said they got something at the consulate saying what order to put it in. I can't find that particular post now.

PLEASE PREPARE THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS FOR YOUR INTERVIEW, IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:

1 - PASSPORT(S)

2 - PHOTOS (please print names on the back)

3 - MEDICAL REPORT (S) (please remove the report from the X-ray)

4 - UPDATED POLICE CERTIFICATE (S)

5 - UPDATED EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT (I-864, most recent taxes, I-134, or job letter)

6 - RETURN ENVELOPE (S) (Please add your return address)

**If you previously sent any of the above mentioned items to the National Visa Center, then they will be in your file **

Green card received: March 18, 2011

Removal of Conditions:

GC Expiration: March 11, 2012

Documents sent: December 13, 2011

NOA-1 received: December 15, 2011

Check cashed: Red said yes when asked

Biometrics: January 25, 2012

Letter approving 10-year GC: September 7, 2012

Production of 10-year GC: September 15, 2012

The order will be written on your interview letter. Like it will list everything they need and in what order.

I did and followed the order but im sure like for everyone else, the day of the interview, they asked for 1/3 of the requested documents on the letter and in a total random order....

Just know which document is which. like if they ask you "can i have your DS156" - bam you get it out of your file, you know where it is and what it looks like. You dont have to read and search for minutes before handing it over.

I know the officer liked that i knew all the docs when we had our interview.... "saves a lot of time" he said

I agree with Chadlaure -- they tell you to do it in that order, but they dont necessarily ask for it that way. I think if you had the new P3 and submitted your paperwork beforehand, they would have a copy of them so they would ask for those particular documents one by one. As long as you can get them out of your binder/folder or have them handy, they are happy.

What you would need that is not included in that list is the photocopy of the bio page of your passport.

Hi

Do they ask for original documents of everything like Birth certificate, Police record, divorce decree,...with copies or just for copies?

I thought that they said to bring copies but they could ask to see the originals, it is why we have to bring the originals too...but I think someone said on this forum that they have been asked for original + copy...

so I'm confused now...I want to put everything in order too my interview is on 25th...

They will take the original copies of your police certificates and the I-134 and some of the supporting documents for it (they took my fiance's letter from his work and letter from the bank).

They will ask to see your original BC but they will give it back after for you to keep.

The woman I got in Montreal who took all my paperwork just said, "ok give me all your documents" She didn't list them out for me or anything. So all my efforts to organize things properly went in vain.

I was asked for each original document PLUS photocopys with the exception of the police certificate, they kept the original and told me to keep a copy.

During the actual interview they gave me back my original birth cert and my husbands original marriage and divorce papers. He kept the copys.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.
