Moving items question

So we are most likely going to be giving my USC aunt the majority of our furniture. I want to give her our BBQ ASAP and am wondering if there's anything special I need to do? I was going to have them come up in a couple of weeks to pick it up (they live just on the other side of the border). We'll keep the propane tank as it's empty and doubt it can be brought across the border.

My idea was to write a letter stating that I am a USC with a Canadian PR and am giving the bbq to my aunt because we are moving soon.

Thoughts?

Maybe draft up a bill of sale, indicating that they spent no money on its purchase?

Some sort of documentation is probably a good idea. Then again, if your aunt can demonstrate sufficient ties to prior cooked animals, she could be fine.
