One thing I miss about Japan is the graciousness of the Japanese when I'd try using their language.

But of course my first time in Japan it was during Hanami, so I can't forget the sakura and the beautiful sights of going up into the Japanese Alps and all those mountain temples at Nikko with the sakura in bloom.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I hope to make it to Japan some day. I have family there - maybe I could save on hotels.

That reminds me of a Ryokan I stayed at in Tokyo... even though it is such a humongous city... the place felt like a home. Of course if once can stay with relatives wow... you could afford Kabuki dinners every night. Hmmmmm...

Next time I hope to make it to the northern part of Honshu and Hokkaido. Absolutely gorgeous from what I am told.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I've only been to Japan for a 2 day business trip, so I know the country mainly from a foreigner's perspective. That said:

Akira Kurasawa - especially Rashamon, and Seven Samurai.

Hot sake.

Sushi.

Perhaps greatest of all - the capacity and ability of the Japanese people to overcome their overwhelming defeat in WWII, and to refashion a modern and technologically advanced and prosperous society within approximately one generation. Japan could have turned into a defeated bitter shell of a country, harboring ongoing resentment against the USA for the forced surrender, and the atomic destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Instead - Japan is a strong prosperous nation and an ally of the USA and freedom loving countries everywhere.

I'll thank Japan for some of the best marianated mutton that I've ever had. Wish I could remember the name :(

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Stop eating sheep!!!!!!!!!!!!

It should also be noted that Japanese distilleries make some EXCELLENT single malt whiskies. I bought my Dad a bottle of Suntory Yamazaki for his 70th birthday, which was marvelous.

Japan is awesome. Extremely cultured country. Great people.

Tokyo is just amazing.

If I spoke the language, I would move there.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
