well, according to Canada Post my SS gift was supposed to be delivered on the 11th!! But so far, my little SS hasn't made himself or herself known.

You've been there for a couple weeks. You could probably go get your SSN and open a bank account as a non-resident alien. Heck, I opened a US bank account last week with RBC USA and I don't have a SSN AND I'm still living in Canada.

You can get a bank account through Wachovia without an SSN either.

Finally married... and still married... ;)

NOA-1 received: December 15, 2011

Check cashed: Red said yes when asked

Biometrics: January 25, 2012

Letter approving 10-year GC: September 7, 2012

I have a bank account, well secondary account with my husband. WE showed them my passport and a whole bunch of other things but I have my own card for it and everything... .

I don't have a credit card or a bank account, I'm in the US waiting to get married :lol:

Me too. The card has my name on it, and is a MasterCard debit card / bank card with HSBC.

Works for online purchases too. :thumbs:

As I recall, we didn't even need a marriage license. I could be wrong. My wife did the initial arrangement of it, but I went in and signed a few papers etc.
