Not sure if this has been brought up before but is their a list of questions people were asked while at the interview? This way i can drill them into my Fiance's head, I mean don't get me wrong we know eachother very well, but I would hate for her to get stuck on an obscure question. Maybe if we get a good list going we can have it stickied so others would be able to benefit from this too, there's never harm in being prepared!

posible questions are:

who is your petitioner?

how old he/she?

does he/she have kids?

many kids does he/she have?

whats his/her job?

what his/her parents name?

how old are they?

basically its all about you

CO asked me:

CO: So you're husband is in Illinois?

me: That's right Sir.

CO: He's born in IL?

me: Yes Sir.

CO: He never lived outside IL?

me: He never lived outside IL!

CO: Are you suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure??! (I thought it was funny tho.)

me: a hundred percent sure!

CO: You sure that he never lived outside IL??

me: (pfft) I am sure that he never lived outside IL!

.... so he seems to be kind of bluffing-verifying-whatever ... just be sure to have confidence in all your answers :) ... and yep, DianneWalgreens is right, it's basically like how much your girl knows about you.

I've heard that the interviews are pretty difficult in the Manila embassy.. My fiancee was saying that sometimes they ask non-relevant questions just to try and fluster the interviewees.. Is this true? I was also wondering, will the Manila embassy need to speak to me, or is the interview just for her?

hello! below is my personal experience during the interview. tell your fiancee to relax, be confident, have a good nite's sleep and have everything (exact duplicate of what you submitted to the NVC) with her.

interview 1 june 09 -- arrived at the US embassy in manila around 440am with my fiance. there were about 30 to 40 people already there. i suggest that you don't go there that early. you may arrive before 6am. the guard will ask people to line up around 6am depending on the time of the scheduled interview. before 630am, we were already inside the embassy. quite strict with the no cellphone or electronic gadget policy.

before you get to talk to the consul, you will have to go through 3 queuing:

(1) to get you queue number and submit your DS156 & 157 forms. if you paid your visa fee at BDO, the bank will provide you a validated 157 form and the bank receipt.

(2) document submission -- birth cert, nbi/police clearance, cenomar, affidavit of support & related docs, DS156K.

(3) finger printing

-------

(4) interview with the consul -- tip here: the questions you were asked during your document submission are the same questions the consul will ask you (sort of validation maybe). be consistent with your answers and know the documents you have submitted (i.e. emails, photos, chats) by heart. the consul will ask a test/trick question so don't make up any answers if you are not sure.

sample questions:

- what did you do in singapore?

- where did you meet your fiance?

- when did you start to chat?

- when did you first meet each other?

- how many times have you met each other?

- how did he propose to you?

the interview took less than 10 minutes. the consul was very nice and gracious. i would give it a 5. i have observed that other consul did not allow the fiance to go with the beneficiary inside the room. was lucky he allowed my fiance to come in with me.

The interview if for the Beneficiary, but you can attend the Interview if you like, it will be up to CO if you are allowed insided room, From what I have seen most K1's petitioners are allowed inside actual CO room, it's the K3's they don't let in.

Difficult questions, I think not. They are basic questions about the Petitiioner and/or Beneficiary

How does your Fiance know they ask non relevant questions? Has she had a USEM interview before, or is she just listening to the rumor mill in PI.

My wife-to-be was asked questions about wedding plans.

Her questions were all based on checking to see if she knew me and if we had talked about future plans.

-Phil

Yes I think that would be the direction most likely their questions would go, especially if there's any susspicion. We talk basically at all times of the day and we know eachother pretty much perfectly. But i have only been there twice (only knew her for about 8 months) and I was married to a foriegner before. Some im worried they may ask more questions then a typical case. But on the other hand I had no issues going threw ISCS or NVC and all our papers are complete with no discrepencies. Bah i dunno what todo.
