Ok I'm starting this thread cause I know there's a bunch of us who need to vent about the waiting process, whatever stage they're in, cause I think sometimes its hard to communicate to others who are not in your situation, or they're past whatever stage your in and really cant relate...so here we go........

1. My rant is waiting for my visa from London, when we were approved pending our subject access, now its sent and I hope like crazy we dont have to wait like we're waiting for a dang NOA2!!!!!! I think we should be priority or the same as the folks who got approved the day of the interview and have their visas in a week or so like the rest of those lucky interviewee's.

Thats my rant of the day.

I know exactly how you feel. Good for you to start this topic. Sometimes when you express your rant on other topics you get reprimanded for it. This whole visa process is such a stressful time for anyone who is doing it. I really feel for you. I too am waiting for my Interview Date. I hope everyday that we get some news.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

I agree...our April/Ca filers are pretty much done except me and a couple others, but I'm sure they're tired of me bi^%%ing and I'm tired of seeing them gloat. No offense to them if they're reading, but really, its difficult to deal with.

You really need to accept the situation is what it is. Been there, understand how you feel. But you will be dealing with various bits of the US immigration machine on and off for several years to come. The wheels grind at their own pace if you accept that and don't stress out about how long things are going to take once you submit some form or other life is much easier.

Other people who applied for citizenship the same time or after I did have had their interviews and in a lot of cases their oath ceremony as well. The office I use seems to be slower and I am still waiting. No point in worrying about it these things take the time they take.

You'll get your visa and soon be here, then you will realize the Embassy in London moves at a higher speed than USCIS offices in the US. ;)

I really don't believe that those who've received their visas already are gloating. Sure, they're happy and want to share their good news & get their congrats, etc. Just like you will expect (and get) once the visa has been delivered. This community does support eachother in good times and in bad. Some people (and I don't mean you Allie & Nigel) just don't seem to understand what bad is. Bad is waiting over 2 years for a K1, like our member estadia. Being taken care of within normal wait times is not bad.

Why can't Filipinos say what they mean? Why do Filipino's eyes glaze over whenever you are talking about something they don't want to hear about or want to do?

There is my rant! Interestingly enough, my sister had this same rant when she was in the Philippines in 1954 :P

The process turns into a big ball of stress and all that jazz. Doesn't matter if you have to fill out forms within two years of getting in USA, this is because you will be with your spouse. Yes, everyone keeps going on about "being within the time line supplied" doesn't make it any easier. Subconsciously you always think of it being faster. The whole Visa process takes it's toll on you. You have your good and bad days. The truth of the matter is, no matter how much you don't want to think about it you always are, it's always at the back of your mind because it's a huge matter.

Not long after it becomes like on of the household chaos you have to carry out everyday. Undoubtedly, everyone on this forum is trying to help each other out. You are genuinely pleased for other people getting their interview dates, but you can't help but feel envious. You start to wonder how those emotions will feel like when you get your case complete, interview date and of course the all imperative approval at the interview.

This is definitely an extremely stress, tedious and slow process. No matter how much you think you are "prepared" for it, you aren't, that's the truth. This process is designed in such a scrutinising, making people wanting to give, it's USA after all. But we just have to carry on with the process. Carrying on being processed by the process.

When we come out of the Embassy with an Approval after the interview, that feeling will be immense, almost unbelievable. But when you see you spouse at your final destination airport, well that feeling will be priceless.

The truth is when something is not within our control, we don't like. We don't like someone else doing the processing, we don't like being processed. Lets just just hope that all our interviews come really fast and we all get approvals and get reunited with our spouses VERY VERY soon.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

Lisa and Ian, I dont think you can understand. Your process was seamless, ours was full of bumps and probably still is. Sure you had ap for 34 days, I was 30....so to sit there and nod ones head is only proving my point that there are some people who clearly cant understand and should stop trying cause its only making it worse. I really dont know our Sara does it....truly. Now THAT gal and i'm sure there are a bunch like her need a hat's off to....cause I'm having patience and anxiety issues over here...keeping busy helps but there's only so much cleaning one can do and so much chocolate to consume at one point!

I totally agree with this....also people need to remember that this isn't something being "done" to them, this is a process that YOU chose to go through when YOU chose to marry someone outside your country. Immigration isn't a quick easy process. Did I get frustrated and angry? you bet I did at times...but you have to keep a sense of perspective.

We are lucky going through London that we only have to put up with 'bumps' in the few months it takes to complete the process...over the years I have read some heartbreaking stories here on VJ that put my frustrations of lost police certificates and running around collecting notarized letters to shame.

Allie, I think that your rant thread is just fine - being able to vent about the waiting to people who understand is good - and having people who are in the same position as you right now (or similar) is helpful. Especially as there isn't so much a good "progress" forum for this stage where you can band together like there is for waiting out the petition or AP at NVC. There's not all that much support for you at this stage - even that additional docs thread is now full of people who got their visa again.

I remember when CSC started speeding up and we were all in a tizzy (in our Jan filers thread) because it looked like our NOA2s were coming so soon - (and we were right, they started coming within a week!)and I remember how MAD I was that people came in and started pissing on us for getting excited and anticipating approval so soon.

So, know that even those of us with our hunnies in reach are still rooting for you and keeping our fingers crossed that your extra docs get logged and the visa issued ASAP! :)

There are two reasons I think you'll see any valid push back, and neither of these reasons I think applies to you - the first is when your stress sort of explodes all over the forums - bleeding all over (bad) advice to others trying to figure out what to do, and every other thread becomes a "poor me", and second, when we start to feel really concerned that you are doing your mental state some serious damage by over-obsessing (obsessing = fine. OVER-obsessing = unhealthy Hah). Otherwise, I think all other coments of "It's better when you're together, it will seem like no time at all" and "count your blessings, xyz has it worse" are really well meant (and true) but not at all helpful for you. :D Just take the good intentions the way they are meant, if you can.

This makes me smile. I know exactly why this thread was started. In a thread of filers for a month if you are far behind - like us - there is not really any consolation! I got a bunch of RFEs for stupid stuff, it's my own fault but it doesn't make it any better.

It's nice to see a good bit of British complaining. Feels like home.

And god knows we're entitled to complain!!

My rant for today is that after at age 46 finally finding a good and decent man; and after he got his visa and we got married (4 years ago); and after waiting on his greencard for 18 months (received 2.5 years ago); and after we bought our first home together (2 years ago); and after finally starting to see financial daylight at the end of a five-year tunnel that he lost his job (5 months ago) and after all that - hoping he can find another job so we can start all over again rebuilding what we've worked so hard for.

Damn....I'm sorry to hear that RJ :( We have also suffered tremendous financial difficulties due to not finding work since we got here a year ago..."life savings" don't last long when you live off them :P Also, it seems pertinent to add that real life living together and working through all that life has in store after the visa process is over is far far harder and frustrating
