Okay, I'm getting prepared to FedEx my I-134 (i emailed the embassy and they told me that this is the form they want) since I received the NVC letter yesterday stating that my petition will be sent to Asuncion within a week...I'm thinking it'll be there by the end of next week since the letter was dated the 17th. I was wondering how people who aren't familiar with this site know that they have to send the I-134 around this time? I only know because of this site. Or does the NVC at any point send me a I-134? I hope it's the same one I plan to get notarized today (which I just downloaded off the UCIS site).

..........

SOOOO while I was writing this I decided to call NVC...and they told me my petition was mailed to PY on the 14th!!!!!!! WOW!!!! It's probably already there!!! Okay I really need to get this sent out!! I guess they don't send the petitioner anything!

K...help me out guys/gals...

Under mortgages and "other encumbrances" in I-134...should I put my lovely student loans or just leave it blank?

I will be sending the employment letter and even though I surpass the poverty line by a decent amount I'll also submit my bank statement since I'll be going there to get the I-134 notarized anyways.

And last but not least..my paystubs. My question is...will I be getting my paystubs back?? (I want them back!) Or can I just make copies of it with the originals and tell my SO to give the embassy the copies if they want to keep them?

And last but not least..I'm doing three copies of each of these things. One for myself and 2 for the embassy.

Anybody see anything I'm missing or anything let me know.

Let me see if I can help.

First thing is, after NVC fowards your case to the foreign consulate/embassy, your fiance will get Packet 3 - even though I cannot be 100% sure about it, since I'm not from Paraguay), which contains a bunch of forms, some instructions for the fiance regarding criminal records and the I-134 form (be careful, some consulates ask for I864 - so I guess you could check with them in Paraguay). I've just taken a look at their website, but there's no specific information. You can download the form and fill it out, even though it comes in Packet 3.

The instructions say that you may submit any or all of the evidences listed there. So, you have the employment letter and will also send them paystubs. Will you send your federal tax return too? And bank statements?

Any original documents they ask to be taken to the interview will be returned as long as you provide them with copies.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

yeah, their website isn't the greatest in the world. I called them and they said I-134. I'm confused though, so if it's in the packet 3 that they send him that means he's supposed to send it to me to fill out and then I send it back to him? I think it'd just be easier..and cheaper to download and send to him.

Have the employment letter, paystubs, will get bank statements and notarized form this afternoon. taxes - i didn't have to do them in the past 2 years so that's pretty much it for me.

good to know!

what would i do without you mew?

It's totally okay to download the form from the USCIS website, fill it out and send it to your fiance.

neptune,

The question about mortgages and other encumbrances is with regard to real estate holdings. Are your student loans secured by your property?

The general rule continues to apply - answer questions, don't leave them blank.

Submit photocopies of your paystubs.
