hi everyone!

im new here in visa journey. im looking for the cheapest way to send divorce papers to the philippines, while im in california in a tourist visa. ive had consulted a lawyer and they are charging me 2000 dollars. is there any way that i can do this on my own? i checked online options but it is requiring someone who has been residing in the states for at least 6 months. but since, im on a tourist visa, ive been here for 4 months only and will go home in the philippines next month. i want to send divorce papers, because i met someone here and we've talked about getting married. and we want to do things legally.

please help me and i am looking forward for your responses.

thank you so much!

Are you a Filipino Citizen? Did you marry in the Philippines? If you answers are YES to both questions... THEN YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE US DIVORCE PROCESS TO DISSOLVE YOUR PHILIPPINES MARRIAGE. GET AN ANNULMENT IN THE PHILLIPINES IF YOU WANT TO DO IT LEGALLY!!!

Go home (or wherever the marriage was made); file the divorce at home; as soon as that is over, either marry your new love and begin the relevant visa stuff, or have (him?) file the K-1 for you. There's not much you can do until the divorce proceedings are over either way.

You're going home next month anyway. Why has it got to be done in the US?
