My I-797 for the I-129F is valid for four months like everyone elses. The end of the period is coming up and all I'm waiting for is the interview in Montreal. Has anyone extended the period their petition is valid for? And did you do it if so? I assume there are people out there who have done this considering some of the delays in getting interviews done at some of the consulates. Thanks for any help.

I was worried when we got our NOA2 for our K1 and the time it was taking to hear about our interview. I emailed Montreal and they replied telling me that they did have out petition and our packet would be mailed shortly. I asked, if I don't get my interview within the four month window will I have to apply to have it extended, they said no, its automatic if they are the cause of the delay. If you delay in sending back what they ask for, then yes, its your responsibility, but if they have your file and its their delay, extension is automatic. BUT, I would email to verify it. One person tells you one thing.....you know that story. LOL
