Photocopied/scanned documents vs original

What are people's experiences of using photocopied or scanned (then printed) documents in London

My fiance is nervous about his original W2 getting lost in the post if he sends it to me... has anyone ever tried using a photocopy instead of the original and encountered problems??

Similarly anything with a signiture on would need to be an original too i imagine?

I think this is my last minute nerves before the interview. I dont want there to be anything that would delay us from getting the visa!

I sent a copy of my W-2. Anything that had to be signed, I sent originals of. We have not had our interview yet...a week from today...but as far as scanning and emailing the W-2, that should be fine. I am going to be scanning and emailing a copy of the 2008 tax transcript this week, along with updated paystubs. I have asked around and been told that copies of those documents are fine.

I sent original transcripts. The lady at the embassy counter photocopied the originals, kept the photocopies and returned the originals to my fiance.

I don't think they mind having photocopies.

I think for the affidavit of support I had tax returns from 2007 and 2008 (did not provide W2s), a bank statement showing a massive amount of savings, a letter from my employer verifying my job title and salary, and a couple of paystubs from july.
