Hello everyone!

My fiancee is a Pinay! I believe there are a lot of Pinays here who could best help us, especially my girl.

I received a letter from NVC around Nov.3, 2009, stating our petition has been approved and we were given the case number that starts with MNL... They said, after forwarding and contacting the USEM in Manila, they will send that packet to my girl. And it has been two weeks since I got that letter, and yet my girl did not receive any yet.

I'd like to ask if which is best thing to do? Should she wait for that packet and then call to schedule an interview? Or she can just call the Manila Embassy now to get an interview schedule?

Any assistance we would get from here would mean so much. Thanks much in advance!

I think the embassy will send a letter to your fiancee that she is eligible to schedule her interview but based on my experienced as soon as the embassy received our packet from NVC, I called and scheduled my interview. Luckily, they gave me a schedule. Good Luck

Hi Chris and Aes,

You don't have to wait for the snail mail from USEM(though in my case we waited and got it over 2weeks) it'll take longer if you'll wait for it. Most of the VJ members didn't wait for the mail. You can call them now. I was told right after the NVC forwarded the case to USEM, you can start calling the embassy after 3days. In your case it's been 2weeks, that means you or your fiancee can call them and have your interview schedule. Then she can have her medical, too.

Good luck.

This link will tell you/her most everything!

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf

Also she can take her medical anytime she wants now.Earlier the better in case something pops up like evidence of TB.

She only needs the MNL #, NOA2 approval notice. 4 passport pictures, $231.35 in pesos and her passport.

Tell her to go Tues thru Thursday after 12 noon. Wear loose fitting clothes and take CP as she can talk with you if she has any questions. Needs to know her POE.

You can also call the DOS hotline (in the states ), get a human, and inquire for status.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

You can call the USEmbassy now to see if you can already schedule for an interview date. Need not to wait for the letter form the embassy, sometimes it takes time for them to send it just like what happened to me.

Good luck and hope you can set an interview date already when you called.

Hello! Cris and Aes,

You must call the US Embassy and find out about it. What Dennisandane said is right... follow what he/she said. You can ask for the schedule of interview. Actually, thats what my fiance did last week He called the USE but no answer so he just leave a message to give him a call back. and they did in the same day! He ask if I can get the interview date since they recieved the docs. from NVC. and they said yes. So they gave him the appointment confirmation number right away. and in 10 minute they sent me the appointment confirmation through email... goodluck!
