Hello everyone!

I received a letter from NVC around Nov. 3, 2009, stating our case has been approved and that we were given the case number that starts with MNL...... they said they will send instructions to to my girl in the Philippines... It has been almost two weeks now, yet my girl doesn't receive any yet.

I could see that there are a lot here who already have their interview schedule by December. Will my girl wait for that packet from the NVC to schedule an interview? Or she can call USEM ?

Thank you for any assistance I could get from here. Have a great day everyone! God bless us all!

Usual process for K1s is that the NVC forwards the approved petition to the USEM, who then log the receipt and then contact your fiancee with 'packet 3' which often is not a packet, but a letter directing them to a website with further instructions/ forms/ etc.

Who you contact depends on the procedure with your USEM, but try contacting them to see if they've received your petition and sent packet 3 yet.

Posting in the PI forum will help you get regionally specific information about what to do from here

Good luck!

For a K-1, that is not exactly how it works. Once approved, the petition is sent to NVC (Step 5 on the K-1 Flowchart ), NVC will process it and then forward it on to the Consulate/Embassy (Step 6 on the flowchart). It could be weeks until the approved petition makes it to the Embassy/Consulate and longer for your fiancé to get any word.
