After the NVC has all your paperwork, approximately how long does it take to process. Basically, if all goes well, how long will they typically have it before it is forwarded to the Consulate. How do you know when it is sent? Do they send an email?

The amount of time that NVC typically has your file is just a few days but it can take longer depending on how many files they receive, etc... You can contact the NVC or DOS and check on the status of your file. You will also be assigned a new case number. After your file is sent to the consualte, you will be able to get updates about your file from DOS. The number for NVC is 603-334-0700 press 1 and then 5. DOS is 202-663-1225 press 1 and then 0. I hope this helps...

I did call the NVC yesterday. They stated that they still didn't have my husband's ds-230 in the system. He mailed it from Ireland and it reached the States on Nov.6. The person I spoke to did say it can take 10-15 days just to get entered into the system. Thanks to everyone for their input... :star:

I'm not sure how timelines for the K3 differ from CR-1's, but our documents were received @ NVC on 10/9 and an RFE wasn't issued until 10/20 (we didn't receive the email until 10/27).

They *say* they schedule interviews during the 2nd FULL week of the month, so you'd want to hope for a case complete by November 13th. If your documents were just delivered 11/6, then they're likely still scanning everything into the system.

I have noticed that the NVC sometimes schedules during the last week of the month as well, so if you can get a case complete, you might luck out and still get a late December interview.

We were scheduled on November 12th for a December 7 interview. Dublin moves really fast, so be ready.
