Well we finally got-r-done. We're married. We're both very happy and content. I looked at the VJ K1 flowchart and it appears that now we need to do the AOS I-485 stuff. This would include the following:

I-485

I-131

I-765

G325A

I-864

Is this the next step? What about the "EAD" or whatever? My wife's K1 visa will expire on December 21, 2009, so should we be nervous or in a hurry? Please any personal tips or info is appreciated....thanks!

Congratulations on the marriage...

What's Next - you've just completed Step 18 on the K-1 Flowchart so the next suggested step is apply for a SS Card - the next steps are outlined on the flowchart and there are guides to fill in the details:

Yes, this is the next step. See the K1/K3 AOS guide for specifics. You file an I-765 to apply for an EAD. Note that your K1 does not expire on 12/21/09, it's the I-94 that expires. You will likely not be able to apply for an expedited/emergency AP should something urgent happen that would require your wife to return to her country until you have filed your AOS w/ I-131. This is one of many compelling reasons to file early.

Moving from Philippines to AOS from Family-Based Visas.

EDIT - As Otto Und Karin has stated, you should also apply for a SSN ASAP.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)
