You could try. But I wouldn't count on it. Call the USEM and prepared to give a VALID reason.

If not, you'll be with him for NYE's at least.

*sigh*

If it were possible, we'd switch with you. We got the 9th, but want to move it back to the week of the 21st or week of the 28th so that I can attend the interview with my wife.

The 28th is very late compared to the others I've seen posted. The latest I'd seen before for a CR-1/IR-1 was the 14th.

Wow...

No offense to anyone, but you should be grateful that you've GOT an interview date! There are folks around here who have had their cases completed in July and still haven't had an interview assigned.

No matter what my plans are, I will gladly reschedule for an interview date!

True, Wyatt! I'm very glad to be on the schedule, even if I hope to change the date. Those of you from Canada and thier spouses have to wait rediculous periods for an interview. I've read some of the horror stories about trying to get an interview in Montreal.

no offense taken... yeah I know there's people waiting an I should be grateful but I think those cases waiting for so long are not the mayority . So I was just hoping that my interview could be a few days earlier cuz it's a common pattern for interview to be schedule 4 or 5 weeks after their cases were closed while mine it's taken. A little more than 7 weeks which makes a big different cuz its on a special ocassion ... i apologize if anyone felt bad for my ranting about my interview I just feel a little bit sad

No, I don't feel bad about your ranting.

Just remember that this has the potential to be the most important day of your life, in that it will allow you to be together with your spouse for the rest of your life.

The idea that I would want to change the first available opportunity to do so is completely alien to me (no pun intended).

My interview was also scheduled for December 28 in Bridgetown Barbados. I am a flight attendant based there. I called the embassy today to request a change in date of interview. I was asked where would i be on that date. I explained that my brother is getting married and that i will be a bridesmaid which means that i hgad to travel back home. She told me ok and asked me if the 21st was ok, I said fine if that was all that was available. She then tried to locate my file and it was not there. She then told me that it appears the boxes with the files for December have been received. She told me that i should call back towards the end of the month and i will get the interview change done then.

It was simple as that

I for one believe you never get anything without asking, Worst that could happen is they say no.

Be prepared to give a valid reason though

carmen, I went through this and was able to reschedule earlier with 3 weeks. you don't need a reason for reschedule, all you need is them having an open earlier date for an interview. for more info on my experience and tips, READ HERE
