I know I brought this up once before...but my fiancee requested taht I ask other people that have done the medical exam in Manila this question. She needs a major thing done with her teeth due to an accident. A lot of back teeth need pulled and so forth. The price to get the whole thing done is just crazy and with all the other expenses I have going on now, it would be tough to afford it. Does the medical exam at St. Luke's check the teeth? If not, then that would be good, cuz we can wait til she gets a job with dental insurance.

I dont know the answer to your question, but i will tell you this...it is probably cheaper to get all dental work in the PI then in the US. Dental coverage in the US typically isnt all that good and is a lot of copay. I know the military has one of the best coverages and they only cover 1200 a year with copay..that is nothing...but at least i dont pay much for it either. Even my parents have a good plan, but theirs only covers 1500 a year. Look into what she needs done in the US and how much out of pocket it will cost. At least weigh your options before getting her here

I realize that it's way cheaper to get it done in the Philippines. I'm considering having her do it...but it will cost 482 dollars for her to get her teeth pulled and replaced. In the US it would probably be at least 3 times the cost. However, we just got our NOA2...there's a LOT of other stuff to pay for...so this doesn't help at all!

I think it will be way more than 3 times...I had some teeth pulled from my stepson when i was married b4 and it cost me $5,000 to get it done. Dental would not cover it.

The whole visa process isnt cheap, but if you cant deal with $500 now....how will you pay the $5,000 later? I know you will find a way to do it. You still have time to save for her to get it done. I would have everything done in the philippines that you can even if it is out of pocket. It is better than paying really big later on in the US.
