Hello everyone,

I am very confused about my I485 status. I will past here what it says:

Request for Evidence

On October 15, 2009, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done

I sent the RFE a month ago and the status is still the same and i never got a letter or anything. My biometrics were on october 13th. I dont know what the hold up is...if anyone could tell me anything about it i would appreciate it.

Thank you!

You sould have contacted them sooner about this, contact them ASAP. No one can tell you what it is accept for the office themselfs. Call or make an infopass appointment right away.

This is what I think it means. Keep in mind, they don't write a personal statement to each person so it may mention some very general terms that may or may not fit your situation.

Request for Evidence

On October 15, 2009, we received your response to our request for evidence. [They got what you sent back so it's not lost] This case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. [it hasn't been transfered to CSC or a local office yet] We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. [Wait to hear from us] You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days [Wait until Dec. 15 before you think something is wrong] of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing [does not apply to you] or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, [if we decide to interview you, then it may take longer than 60 days to get that all done] in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done [This is saying look at the list on the USCIS website to see what dates they are processing]

I sent the RFE a month ago and the status is still the same and i never got a letter or anything. My biometrics were on october 13th. I dont know what the hold up is...if anyone could tell me anything about it i would appreciate it. [i think it may just be taking some time to get around to working on your case. Was it a request for initial evidence? That would mean something was missing from the application. Something like that means they just checked to see if everything was sent, but aren't really evaluating it yet...just checking through for all the forms. If it is request for further evidence, then they have actually starting looking at your case more closely and need a more information to give it the okay.]Thank you!

Forgot to say---we waited from October to March with no status change before an approval. Actually the status didn't even update then. The green card was received in March with no email or letter and the online status is still "pending" and unchanged since a year ago. Who knows? but I think you're okay and nothing is wrong with your case. It just takes awhile sometime. Also if you get an RFE, they consider your date as when they got the RFE info back, not your original NOA date. It doesn't mean it will take a lot longer, but it gives them something to stall you with if it takes longer. Good luck!

Just one question, in one of the replies, the girl (i think) told me to make an infopass which i already did for tomorrow (monday). Should i cancel it and wait until december or should i go tomorrow anyway?? I just dont get why so long to transfer...specially when i wanted to visit my family with my GC in january :(
