Anyone ever send OTC medicines to the PI?

Just wondering if anyone has had any troubles sending Over The Counter medicines to their honey in the PI before?

I read a few threads about sending vitamins and I understand that it would be possibly cheaper for her to buy them there but...

My girl is very careful with her money. She would suffer before 'risking' spending her money on something she has not tried before.

I wanted to send her some Actifed for her sinuses and some Midol for her cramps that she gets about that time... She would try them if they just 'arrived' in a package from me. Otherwise she would just save her money, take nothing and feel bad.

Is is a NO-NO to send OTC medicines to the PI? Is customs going to keep it or return it?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Just want to try to help honey feel a little better without her having to worry about the cost. :star:

I have sent a bunch of different cold medicines along with advil, motrin, and migraine medicines. It got there no problem. I think i just put meds on the customs form. My wife got them no problem. I know with my wife she is the same way with taking meds. She is getting better about it, but always asks me what she should take. You know they just go to the pharmacy and tell what their symptoms are and they give the meds there. You should have no problem with it though as long as it's not prescription meds that contain controlled substances. None of my boxes have been opened or gone through b4 my wife received them.

I have sent my mom a couple of over the counter stuffs especially pain relievers because she always asks me about it. Usually I put them in my balikbayan box and I have no problem about it so far. My mom gets the box and the stuffs in it fine. Some pain reliever medicines in the Philippines are so expensive that my mom just asks me to get it from here. We always convert the prices from pesos to dollars and if I get a better deal with the over the counter stuffs here, I always get them for her and put it in my balikbayan box.
