Hey guys, since this is my first post, I would like to say hi to everyone. I just got married with my wife who came with her daughter from the Dominican Republic as K1/K2.. I don't know if anyone is familiar with the names used in DR but I don't know what last name I should put in her adjustment of status form (I-485). My question is, should I put her last names from birth? or the last name given after marriage?

Married name. Put maiden name under other names used.

By maiden name, do you mean the last name (two last names) that she had with birth?

Will it be a problem if when I send in the copies of my wife and daughter's birth certificates last name are different? (I-485). Since my fiance adopts my last name after marriage?

enter her name as you wish it to appear on her green card. Married name? Her choice.

More than confused about the I-485... also confused about which forum to post in... :)

moving thread from K-1 to adjustment of status forum....

Won't cause any problems as you have to make out separate I-485s and I-864s for each.

Put ANY other names used other than her new married name under other names used .

If she doesn't want your name on the GC only put the name she wants on it.

Hiya

1) Does anyone knows by any chance what name do I put on the forms as last name for my wife? Meaning do I put her original, maiden name or my name since she wants to use my name now that we got married?

2) On I-131 Form do I use our family name or her name? I am asking this because to my eyes I don't understand how they can issue a document such as the Advanced Parole under a name that will be different from the one that she has on her passport (how can it be valid in other words?).

Geee I feel like I am sinking here with all these small details
