Congratulations!

(and moving to the K-1 Visa Progress Reports Forum)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thanks every one, here is my experience with the Embassy, I hope is useful.

Well, on the day interview which was early in the morning we went to the Embassy with my fiancée, I showed my passport to the guard and he let both of us in very fast, after security we got a number and sat for 4 hours until they called our number.

Both of us went to the window, the CO asked me if I the petitioner, which I said “yes” he said, thank you for coming but please have a seat!!!

He asked my fiancée:

When is the last time you saw him?

What is his favorite food?

How long you know him?

What does he do? (Work)

What do you do? Is it a Gov. job in Iran? (She said no – the truth)

What did you study in Iran?

CO had a copy of our engagement album and he went through it with her and asked about photos, that who is this, who is that!!! And then he said, nice place!!! Then he gave back all our photos, emails, bank statements, Tax returns.

Then he said, I have approved your application, you will receive your passport and visa in the mail within 3-5 days, I recommend you stay in Ankara and check the UPS website to track it.

We both left the embassy very happyyyyyyyy, in the afternoon we checked the UPS website and we saw that they mailed the passport so we continued celebrating.

The next day UPS showed up at 3pm and gave us the passport with NO VISA but a blue paper for Administrative processing. :crying: we were devastated

I went to the Embassy the next day, the guard wouldn’t let me because it was Friday and they said I don’t have an appointment, after arguing with him for few min. that I’m a USC and I have to see the CO regarding my fiancée’s visa, he started making phone calls and then he let me in and immediately CO called me to the window and told me that there is Administrative processing on her file which we didn’t know about it and we found out as soon as we started printing the visa, this may take about 2 weeks, 2 months or longer, please check the website!!!!

The next day, I flown back to US and she went to Iran, Couple of days later after weekend I checked the website and she was cleared!!!!!!!

After couple of months, she went there and picked up her visa, no question asked.

Congratulation and I wish you many blessings, but it would be nice if the process was simple for our MENA brothers marrying American, European Women trying to leave their home country. In any event ALLAH bless you with a fruitful marriage.

The questions they asked were almost the same as KGH's

except for "what is his favorite food?" the answer in that case would have been Khoreshe Baamieh...lol

they asked her:

How did you meet?

where did you meet for the first time?

what does he do for living?

what do you do for living? is it Gov. job?

why do you want to marry him?

the CO wanted to speak English with my Fiancée. when my fiancée asked to be interviewed in Farsi, the CO said she preferred to do the interview in English. at the end the CO asked why she wanted the interview to be in Farsi.

At the end of the interview, the CO told her " you are good, except your file is in AP still. next time you come in, only bring your passport with you"

That's all...

Amin jan can you tell us your store and question they asked Thank you
