What's in the CR1 Packet Anyway?

Are there any forms in common? Our CR1 packet was sent to the NVC, as it was expedited - so the Embassy, not the NVC, sent our CR1 packet to us. The problem is, they sent it to the WRONG ADDRESS?

Now I am wondering what I might prepare in advance while first waiting to get a hold of the embassy, and second, getting them to email or send me the packet!

Also, if the CR1 packet is sent by the NVC to the Embassy while a K3 appointment is already scheduled, does the K3 Interview automatically become a CR1 interview?

And, if the K3 visa was expedited due to medical reasons, can the CR1 interview be expedited too? Is it automatic, or do they have to make a whole 'nother decision?

I just looked at the Abu Dhabi Embassy site, and it looks like the only difference is that the K3 interview requires the I-129 form and I-156 and 1-157, while the CR1 interview requires the I-130. They both require the DS-230 and assigned fees. Also, the Embassy asks for I-134 AOS for the K3 interview, but asks for I-864 AOS for the CR1.

Does anyone else know any other differences?

Thanks,

Verde

Those are the differences. You latest submission fulfills the requirements for both visas. Now you wait for a decision. If a visa is issued, it will be the CR1.

Packet sent by Consulate? I-130 ?

I think you are talking about the P4.

Usually, it's an appointment letter, the medical forms, and any supplemental forms that are CONSULATE SPECIFIC, plus instructions.

The VJ specific page is here - http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...cty=Abu%20Dhabi

but does NOT list I-130 specific info at all. (K-1, sure ).

The Consulate does have limited and specific info here - http://abudhabi.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html

But it's not really 'Spousal Visa Specific' or 'I-130 filed in the USA' specific.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

re: forms in common..

Barely ! .. Just the DS-230 - and for the K-3, I dunno if only part I (like a K-1/I-129F ) or both parts.

The I-130 requires a full DS-230 - which , I think, you've already filed @ NVC.

K3 and CR1 are the same with respect to the DS 230 because part II is always signed before the Consular officer.

One additional thought is that K3 does not require any vaccinations but the CR1 requires them all. I there are any missing vaccinations, he'll need to get them before the visa is granted.
