Hi guys,

We got the CR-1 interview letter through email. The petitioner and beneficiary received the same email. Our embassy is Chennai, India. My questions are will the beneficiary receive a hard copy of the interview letter or any other forms/packets from the embassy? Is the email copy sufficient enough to get throught embassy procedures like VFS? Is the VFS courier payment necessary even if you are picking up the passport in the evening from the embassy?

Thanks in advance!

What you got by e-mail should be enough. I don't recall getting any by post.

I don't know what VFS is. Obviously if you're going to pick up your passport in person, it would be wrong for them to charge you for courier! We didn't pay that.

Oh, and I don't know how the weather is now where you're at. But don't forget your umbrella and a bag if it's raining. It rained down on us like a deluge just as we were getting out of the embassy's premises. Yep, it got the packet wet. But thank goodness it wasn't ruined. No issues later at the POE.
