Well, my fiance will be arriving at SFO in just a couple of hours. I checked the flight status, and they are on-time, so that is good news. I am anxious but very excited to have this part of our journey finally ending. Thank you to all of my friends on VJ. I never would have stayed sane if not for this website and the valuable advice of my friends here. I would also like to report that happily my in-laws all were approved for their tourist visas and the whole family will be here for our wedding in December. We have been very blessed on this journey. Good luck to everyone who is still in the process and know that one day you will be together again. The wait is awful, and sometimes you will just want to give up and run away and hide. But it is worth waiting for the person you love. Hugs especially to all of our Brasil friends who are on their way to the US soon!

congratz !!!!

No, we turned our papers in in March. We had our interview in September and he just came to the US yesterday. All in all our process was pretty average, but we feel blessed to have waited only 6 months from filing to interview. We know lots of people who waited so much longer.

For the tourist visas for my in-laws, as soon as my fiance had his passport in hand, we started the process of applying for my in-laws. We scheduled an interview and completed the forms. Then we gathered tons of evidence like evidence of property, letters from work, utility bills, everything to show that they had strong ties to Brazil. The interview was easy and they passed with no problem at all.
