When you sent your AOS Package

The USPS website is still showing our package not picked up from the post office in Chicago. For those who have already sent, did you mark that it needed to be signed for or not? I left it to be signed for and now I'm wondering if they don't do that.

You mean like registered mail? The government is not gonna send a employee out to sign and pick up a package. If they dont have it sent directly to them you can forget it.

I sent ours regular priority mail, no delivery confirmation or anything (I figured the cashing of the checks would confirm that they'd received it!)

Still haven't heard anything yet. I'm sure plenty of people send theirs registered mail - hope it gets there ok for you!

We did the certified mail thingy so got the green card back with a USCIS representative signature (rubber stampped) This gave me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing the AOS package was in their hot little hands

I can't remember exactly what we did. I know we had delivery confirmation, but don't know if it had to be signed for or not.

I do know it was shown as delivered 2 days after we sent it...memory fuzzy beyond that though.

We sent it, and wanted it to be signed for. They signed for it when it got to Chicago.

Thanks for the replies. I sent ours Express mail so it would get there quick since we were a week and a day late sending. I know that the post office can sometimes be delinquent in updating their website - guess I should have sent it by Fed Ex.

I sent it to the street address they give for couriers so I would think if they give you a street address like that they should expect to have to sign for it since both UPS and Fed Ex require signatures unless you say not to require them.

I sent ours just like I sent all our other paperwork, just regular mail. Thank goodness it made it so I'm sure yours will. I sent ours to the address listed, can't remember right off hand what it was. Good Luck! Keep us posted.

Well I finally got a call back today from the post office. Our package was delivered Monday at 12:30, but apparently the guy had so many that he missed logging ours in. At least he still had the signed receipt so he could verify delivery.

The girl that I talked to told me she had sent several e-mails and made multiple phone calls to the Chicago office before she got a response. I guess that post office is just really overworked.

Now I can start watching for checks to clear, if I can get back into my account online. Now that I've added Abdel to my account I can't get in and I guess I need to get the password reset. I just got a notice that one of my credit card payments I made online didn't go through, so I guess the whole online account part is messed up now. I know the money is in the account so something must not be set right yet for transactions to go through. It seems once you get one thing straightened out something else goes wrong.

Just wondering if you received your NOA or had your checks cashed yet.

We sent our stuff on 2/8 and have yet to hear anything....

I have no idea how ours went. I gave all the stuff to our attorney and they sent it in. They told me it was sent on Fri Feb 3. The checks were cashed the following Friday Feb 10 and I got the NOA in the mail Feb 10 showing a status date of Feb 9.

No NOAs yet. I've been in bed with the flu for four days so I hadn't really thought about it.

Ok, scratch that. Nobody checked the mail yesterday so I just did. Guess what! We have 3 NOAs! - I131, I765, and I485.
