I'm working on the affidavit of support to send to my fiance (since London is taking forever, I guess I am too). I was trying to gauge whether a co-sponsor was needed based on my situation.

I work full time and gross (annually) 23,400.00. I'm a recent college graduate so I still have large loans out (no delinquency, all are paid to date), and at the moment I still live at home as my father recently passed and my brother and I take care of my mom. Based on the forums I was perusing to get an idea of what income I need, when I realized I didn't know what to put for household size. Here's why. Me, my brother, and my mom live in a 13 room house. It used to be a multiple family house, but as time passed, it dwindled down to just us. We just paid off the mortgage on it so we own this house that's obviously way too big for us, but can I still put down that I live in a 3 person household?

Thanks again for your help :)

It boils down to your tax returns.

Do you claim your mother or brother as dependents on your taxes? If not, then count only yourself. They don't concern themselves with the level of outgoings, but only your gross income (if I remember correctly, it's line 22 on your tax return).

Doesn't sound like you need a co-sponsor :)

Thanks for the reply and for clearing that up :) I definitely got lucky financial wise finding this job.

My only concern is I was only hired last February and my last tax return reflects my previous 8.25/hour job part time job. I'm still waiting on the proof of employment letter, hopefully that will work.

Thanks again :)

Your last tax return is not an issue so much. Current income rules. Give good evidence of your current job and you will be fine. As mentioned above only you and your fiance count in yoru "family" size unless someone else is claimed as a dependent on your tax return.
