Hi everyone.

I am currently in the process of finishing up the I-864. I have a sponsor (my wife) and a co-sponsor (her dad).

Now with the co-sponsor under household size Q.21 I am a little unsure of what to put for part d) dependant children. Her dad has 3 kids all under 21. On his 2008 return all he claimed all 3 of them but since then 2 have married (one being my wife). Now what number should I fill in. Should I fill it out as it stands now with only one being under 21 and unmarried or like it was when he did his 2008 taxes and include them all?

Please help so I can be done with this form and get everything sent.

Thanks for reading and any help you offer.

You have two options

1. If his income is comforatbly sufficient, just count them all and no problems

2. If he is borderline then only count the one still dependent (which is actually the correct count) and attach a letter of why it differs from last years tax return. Incidentally the co-sponsor needs to be filling this out and should write (or at least sign) the letter of explanation
