Typical liberal. Whenever you can't win an argument you start name calling. Presidents of the United States do not bow before any foreign dignitaries. They also don't personally lobby Olympic Committees and give shout outs before offering condolences to shooting victims.

There are two types of people in America, Liberals and people who wish they had the ballz to be Liberals. Thomas Paine, George Washington, Jefferson, Franklin those guys were Liberals. Cornwallis and George III they were Conservatives. If it wasn't for us Liberals you'd be bowing to the Queen, so why are you upset if Obama bows to anyone. That's what you wanted in the first place. Calling me a Liberal, thank God Almighty I am! God Bless The Liberals and God Bless America!

BTW, Obama should not have lobbyied the IOC. I can say that because I am a Liberal and am free to criticize the President.

How do you explain this?

It's called protocol, idiot.

presidents do not bow before foreign dignitaries

Bullsh*t! Being the President of The United States of America means representing the people of The United States of America. Are we to believe that Americans are rude, boorish azzholes? Noblesse Oblige doesn't only apply to the Corps.

you can bow then, i won't. and i don't expect my president to bow either. it's a sign of subservience.

"The bow was an extraordinary protocol violation. Such an act is a traditional obeisance befitting a king's subjects, not his peer. There is no precedent for U.S. presidents bowing to Saudi or any other royals. Former President Franklin D. Roosevelt shook hands with Saudi King Abdulaziz in February 1945. Granted, Mr. Roosevelt was wheelchair-bound, but former President Dwight D. Eisenhower shook hands when he first met King Saud in January 1957."

Obama is President, or are you in the birther movement too?

how did you take what i posted and arrive at that question?

That's my point exactly, it just doesn't follow. The article is by a source that engages in half-truths and outright lies, notice how the writer engages in an anti-Saudi agenda, what about bowing to the Emperor of Japan? I expected more from you Charles, of all people you should be reading, watching and listening to everything, Liberal or Conservative with a finetooth comb. Everything is spin, I always keep this in mind when I read, watch or hear anything. In case you are wondering, here's something that vitiates the validity of the premises and conclusion of the article that you posted.

yes, it has to be an anti-saudi agenda, of course!

your posted picture appears more like tricky ####### is leaning over the podium rather than bowing, perhaps to hear the other guy better. i'd need more background on the event before saying that he's bowing.

Not necessarily but why did the writer cite the Saudis, to inflame anti-Saudi passions or was there another reason? Grasshopper you are starting to ask questions but you have a long way to go. If President Nixon had a bad back and couldn't bend over further, we know that he wore orthopedic shoes, would that make you more or less likely to say he's bowing? There's a set of microphones in front which would tend to lead one to believe that President Nixon could hear what was being said but could there be an alternate explanation?

Obama is in much better physical condition than just about every President for the last 50 years. He can bend further and is far more flexible than any of them. Eisenhower blew out his knees as a RB for Army. Kennedy, remember PT 109, had a bad back. LBJ was huge but had lots of health problems. Nixon we discussed. Ford, the All-American Center, I have no idea. Carter, can't say. Reagan, had health problems on and off. The rest of the Presidents you have some idea of. Look carefully at Sarkozy in the photo, is he not also doing the bow and shake?

Like others have said this is a milisecond in time & we don't know the full context of what actually happened. However please bear in mind that the OP has served exactly 0 days in uniform & he has previously compared Obama to Osama Bin Laden. Not exactly the poster child for being objective on the matter. Meanwhile I have served 20 yrs, including Bosnia & Iraq, and have been decorated about 20 times in my career (including a bronze star & meritorious service medal).

I have made my disappointment with former President Bush very well known but at no time did I question his patriotism or loyalty to our nation. For all of you partisan hacks attacking President Obama on this issue shame on you.
