The salutes were rendered to him as he entered to the tune of Hail to the Chief. They weren't saluting the flag or the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

However please bear in mind that the OP has served exactly 0 days in uniform & he has previously compared Obama to Osama Bin Laden. Not exactly the poster child for being objective on the matter. It was a photo that invited speculation and you threw out your opinion as well. The difference is, I took a look at the clip to see who was right and you didn't care to and just kept on yaking no matter what.

There are certain falsehoods they hold dearly to about Democrats - one is equating things like diplomacy as a sign of weakness, no military service as not loving America enough (this only applies to Democrats who haven't served, Rush Limbaugh, Cheney...there's a long list of Right Wingers considered kosher who've never worn a uniform). And they're not ashamed to even question the service of veterans like Max Cleland, who lost three limbs in Vietnam. They force themselves into a corner by insisting on believing in such falsehoods or they're whole argument crumbles. It's a sign of weakness when they attack the character of the President rather than argue against his policies. So expect to see more threads like this about Obama not showing proper respect for our veterans and our country from Danno, Kaydee, Joseph, and other RWN.

It's blatant hypocrisy... the far right claims to respect military service but like you mentioned they have attacked many military vets (Cleland, Kerry) simply because they have a different point of view. It's much more disgusting when someone who never served does it. Attack their policies & decisions all day long, but leave their military service alone.

During the election a few VJers took shots at McCain's military service & I was one of the first to denounce their attacks, so I don't want to hear from anyone that I am favoring Obama... I am defending OUR President against cheap shots.
