Sama have you heard about your interview yet? It looks like December slots are being given to CR-1 applicants with an August/September completion date... I wonder where you and I would fall? (Oct/Nov)

Salams

So far no appointment, as we were anxiously expecting for a december interview, now we dont think so there is a possibility in december slot.

I am going to try and call the embassy tomorrow... I'm not going to hold my breath, considering their complete and total reluctance to pick up the phone, but I really want to know what's going on. I don't even need to know when *my* interview date is; I just want to know who they're scheduling now. This lack of transparency is killing me.

Ok, I just got off the phone with the embassy. The gentleman there I spoke with informed me that the NVC is the body that schedules CR-1 interviews and only they know the queue. He said there is no list at the embassy that tells them the last case number to be scheduled. He did mention, however, that they had their December cases now, so it was unlikely I'd get a December interview if I hadn't already. I'm going to call the NVC again tomorrow morning and share this information with them. I don't see what's so hard about this: all we want to know is, how long is the list of people before us? Is it 5? 10? 100? How many interview slots is Abu Dhabi giving out per month for us? SOMEONE has to know this; it would be impossible to schedule these interviews otherwise.

Yes you are right, but i dont think NVC will share a clear detailed information on how many interview slots per month in Abudhabi, As far as we know the time of consulate is 3 months from the time of case completion, My question is November they are full ok, again december they are full ok, January is open so pls give us the date instead of keeping us worry waiting like this.. Everything we can do is prayers - i think that is the best solution for everything Inshaallah

Thank whatever god you thank that someone else admits that Abu Dhabi does NOT answer their phones or provide any information!!! I'm not nuts after all.

The Embassy tells me NVC schedules interviews, NVC tells me the Embassy schedules. Who knows the truth? They've got a closed system and they are keeping it that way. Let me know what you find out.

Verde,

It depends on the visa type. We know that the embassy well let NVC know how many interview slots they have open. NVC informed me earlier this week that when they receive the number of slots they work from the oldest case complete forward until the number of slots are taken. So far I've noticed this to be true based on the case completes since Aug 09. The embassy also serves K1 applicants and they schedule those. So yes in some cases NVC schedules and in some other cases the embassy schedules.

I disagree that they don't know what they are doing. I feel that scheduling interviews is just taking time due to serving both UAE and Iran. I could definitely make recommendations for improvement to the embassy, NVC, govt, and whoever else will listen. You are a step ahead of us Alhamduillah and atleast got an interview. Just do what they say and Insha Allah your husband will be joining you soon.
