Payment questions for I-485

Hi Everyone,

Two questions about payment.

I am submitting AOS for my wife and her daughter. Can I write one check for the total amount, or should I include one check for $1010.00 for my wife's AOS, and another for $600 for her daughter's?

Is there any reason to use a certified bank check versus a personal check?

One check may be fine, but if it were me, I'd write two to avoid confusion since the check is likely the first thing to be processed.

Is there any reason to use a certified bank check versus a personal check?

No reason at all - personal check or money order drawn on a US bank is all that is required.

Yes, you can use one check. I did. Personal checks are better as you can track that it has been deposited.
