The first thing that comes to my mind when reading is AP. I have never heard of this situation in NIgeria. I have heard of it in other common AP regions though.

Sorry for your delay.

I thought about that to. But I was wondering would they do that after they told him he has been approved and given him his approval notice to go and pick up his visa on the 20th.

What they will probably say is that he passed the interview but that the name checks were incomplete. The CO probably forgot to check the computer for the status of the file. Because AP is a catch all phrase for "we don't have everything together" it is used for all sorts of delays. The good thing is most African names are unique so they clear quickly.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

When you are in AP in Nigeria, you are usualy in AP for documentation verfication. Check to see if they can discover if you were married or not. They usually do a home visit, questions neighbors, and relatives.

They have taken peoples passport and then called them back to come get it, because additonal processing is needed.

Okay everyone Thanks for all the responses. My husband just came back from the embassy to figure out what the problem is. He met with the person at the front who told him to go down the hall and wait for MR. _____ to come and get him. Hubby sat there for an hour and finally a man came out and said they were going to his office. They went upstairs and went into a private office. Security was very tight up there they even have military type security up there. CO told him there was a problem that his interview he did on friday was not valid and his approval has been cancelled. The CO will be conducting another interview today and this will determine if he passes or not. CO said there was a problem with his name and status and also my name. Apparently someone with my last name in there system was wanted. luckily I sent my hubby a copy of my passport and my mom passport. CO looked at those made copies and was like okay. Then hubby showed him a copy of the plane tickets with my grandparents name on them when we flew to see hubby's siblings . So that clear up the name problems. Then CO tried to say my family must not of been happy with the wedding that is why they didnt come. So luckily again I had all my family member write a letter saying why they couldnt come and how they felt about us getting married (they all like my hubby) and then I have all letters notorized so hubby was able to give it to the CO. That clear all that up. Then CO said my hubby name was already in the system for immigration which is true cause my husband sibling and parents are all american citizens. so my husband explained that. The CO asked him question after question mostly just about our family members. Interview lasted about 45 mins this time. CO said that is all the questions he has to ask. Walked my husband back down stairs to the front desk and said he was approved close the case there is nothing else to clear up everthing checks out. so they gave my hubby his slip and said he can pickup his visa on tues. Yeah , Glory be to GOD !
