Hello everyone! I have a question regarding the interview.. I got my NOA2 and a letter from NVC(not a hard copy) already for my K-1 petition.. And my question is that

1. What will i do next? Can we set the interview now?

2. Who will call to set a date for the interview? Are they gonna call me or my fiancee to set it?

3. When should we have the interview? Are we gonna set an appointment in MEdical of my fiancee or will the Embassy take care of it?

Thank you guys and will wait for your answers.

I'm not sure if it's different in every country, but I can tell you what it's like in here.

Your fiancee (the beneficiary) should receive package no. 3 with instructions for the interview. She has to fill in some forms and send them back to the embassy. After sending them she can call the embassy to schedule for an interview or she can wait for the embassy to call her. Your fiancee can schedule for the medical any day from now. She will find all the instructions for the medical in package no. 3.

You should probably ask this question on the Philippinese forum and they can tell you what package no. 3 contains and you can start preparing the papers and forms.

Hope this helped you....

Hello Randy,

I have just set an interview appointment with the Embassy in Manila for a K3 (spouse) visa. This is the same process as the K1...the NVC does not set the appointment. You or your fiance need to set the appointment. But they won't let you until the Embassy has received your package from the NVC. But I did save a few days by calling the Embassy a few times and finally they said they had the package and would allow me to set the appointment for my wife. This saved the time it would have taken for them to send the letter to her. The Embassy in Manila has some info you will need. They also don't mail a package...you download the forms and info. Here is a link to info about setting an appointment....it cost $18 from the USA for a PIN. or about $1 per minute if calling from Philippines. http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfccqa.pdf

As far as the medical...you can go on your own....they don't take appointments. But the benificary needs to print the letter from the Embassy (or email as in our case) passport photos and their passport.

let me know if you have any questions...I have just gone through all of this and tried all the shortcuts. good luck,

Russell

Thank you for your help guys.. I just need some clarification on something..

1. Regarding the PIN you said, where will I get it? what number should i call to have the PIN?

2. Regarding the medical appointment, Can she just go to St. Lukes and what's the best time to have her medical?

3. There's a date on the NOA2 stating its valid from oct,09 to feb,10.. Does it mean that my fiancee needs to be here in the US before february of 2010?

You call the embassy and you will be prompted to enter a credit card/debit number. Once approved, you will be told a pin because you get 3 calls to the embassy for 1 price. So if you need to call them again you can use your pin instead of entering the card again.

She needs to go to St lukes MINIMUM 7-9 days before interview. It takes several days for st lukes to get the results to the embassy which is why you go so early. No appointments necessary. Have medical in Mid-week for faster service.

Dont worry about the dates on the NOA2, the embassy will extend the dates as needed.
