Per packet4, Consulate in Mumbai have asked to deliver all docs to VFS 7-10 days before interview and then show up at the US consulate for the interview. Is this usual? Any copies/etc that we need to make before delivering docs to VFS? Thanks.

Yes you do need to deposit ALL of your documents/papers to VFS at least 7-10 days before the initial interview and then VFS delivers these documents to embassy. then on your interview day these will be available there.

my fiance made all copies of all the documents and took it with him too..just to be on safer side.

I hope this helped :)

Good Luck!

Submit 'most' all of it 7-10 days before your interview date. I say 'most' because there are a 'few' little items you won't submit at VFS such as your Passport, your x-ray from your medical exam and if applicable, your divorce decree. Can't think of anything else right now...

You will also get all your proofs of relationship returned to you, i.e., cards, letters, photos, etc. once you're approved or not approved your visa.
