Can I change address twice in 2 months? using AR11?

here's my situation. I currently live in New York under an H1B and have filed for the AOS process. I recently got my AP travel documents and my EAD is allegedly on the way.

On August 1st, my wife and I are going on an extended 2 month trip around the world as a honeymoon and celebration of the fact that we got the AP When we come back to the states we are landing in SFO and moving there to live.

So the problem is that I need to change my address with the USCIS. I will not have a permanent address in San Fran until I get back from the trip which is in late september. What should I do in terms of changing the address with the USCIS?

Should I just forward my mail from the USPS from my current address to a friend's house and only do the AR11 things when I get back and have a place?

OR

Do I change the address officially now with an AR11 to a friend's place in San Fran and then change it again when I arrive in town?

If it were me I would change it to the Friends house then once you are established in you own home then change the address again, at least then you would actually get your mail, I would also ring the information line explaining that the address that is being given would be a temporary address and explain the circumstances. That way you have all your bases covered.

AR11 does not change the address of pending cases you will need to write to your old local office and your new local office send ing a coppy of the AR11 and a letter explaining whats going on....

Dont forget to send I-865 for the sponsors change of address.... and pray thay your interview is not called while you are on your round the world trip.... because to miss it or try to reschedule it will likely result in a denial of your AOS and you would have to start all over again... also remembering that if a denial is issued it invalidates your EAD and AP and I dont know how you would stand when trying to re-enter....

Just some things to think about...

Submit AR-11 when you move. As Kezzie points out, it's not going to affect where case mail gets sent.

Thanks all for the replies. Does the notice for interview come via email through the USCIS? It seems like it is at least a month ahead of hte interview date which I could then just fly back home early for the interview. Or does it come only via letter with a notice online that says a letter was sent?

Also, Yodrak, are you suggesting I change the address now before the trip via an AR-11 and then again when I come back in?

Kezzie, how do I find out/call the local office that is holding my case? I live currently in Manhattan.

You cant call your local office they dont take calls from the public... you would have to make an infopass appointment and go there...

The only notification we had for our AOS interview was an actual physical letter sent to our house. Our case hadn't even been 'touched' in a long while and the letter stating when our interview was scheduled showed up. This might not be the case for other people, but I didn't even get an email stating anything was being sent to me.
