Hello Everyone,

My son's fiancee got an interview date of Feb. 21st 2010. They sent the package on Nov. 3rd but she hasn't recieved it yet.

On the embassy website it says they want the original passport sent in. She can't travel to the interview without a passport.

How did you handle this? Also, it says that she doesn't need a police certificate. Is this accurate?

Any other advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

you are not clear, you said she got an interview for Feb 21st then you say, she hasn't received the package, yet?!!!! which package?

you first send all the forms and copy of Documents that they want and then you will receive an interview date, when you go the interview you take your passport (she take her passport) and all other original documents.

Yes, they do not ask for police certificate from iranian nationals. Maybe it is bacause they will not issue you a passport in iran if you have criminal records.

Congratulations!

She will NOT receive any package and there is NO need to send any thing to UAE embassy. Actually K1 process through UAE embassy is not like Ankara embassy or any other that they have to get your documents before making an appointment with you. Your daughter in law should take all of her documents to embassy with herself when she goes for interview. They will send a combo packet containing packet 3 & 4 to YOU SON not her. No need to wait for the package to arrive. Tell her to download all the forms from internet herself. The only thing your son should do now is to fill in I-134 and prepare all its relevant documents. Will he join her for the interview? if yes, he can take I134 and documents with himself and if he is not going to UAE, he should send them to her by fast carrier (DHL) - she must have them with herself for interview.

Elham, thanks for the congrats. We are all very excited and ready for Feb. We had no idea the packet would come to my son. My son took an extended period of time of for work this summer for the engagement party in Dubai. They have decided to send his fiancee' to the interview with her mother so my son can save up time off for the wedding and honeymoon.

If the interview is in Feb. would it be ok for my son to get his employment letter and send it now, or is it too soon?
