to compare abortion to carpet bombing is purely geared to divert from the horrors of abortion and from the question, is abortion health care.

Well, yes it is.

pooling a decayed tooth is health care, pooling a perfectly good tooth is not health.

Its an unnecessary analogy - dentistry is not abortion, nor are the two comparable.

that comparison is a whole lot closer to home than carpet bombing.

I didn't make the carpet bombing comparison, so I'm not really interested in that.

Merely answered the question.

did not say you did so merely saying that pulling a good tooth is a lot closer to home than carpet bombing.

Analogies aside, I agree with DE on this. Abortion services don't need to be something provided for in a public option. There already exists, resources out there for low incomes families who seek these kinds of services. Except in certain cases such as rape, incest or where the mother's life is in danger, abortion services are not a critical service needed, and for the Liberal Democrats to push that...they are risking this whole health care bill being derailed.

Erm no - it isn't. They're both irrelevant to the issue.

If you want to talk about abortion, talk about abortion - don't go around the houses with silly analogies.

it is

It's changing the subject to something that has little relevance to the complexities of the issues involved.

so whenever a comparison is made, no matter what is it, it is, as you put it: It's changing the subject to something that has little relevance to the complexities of the issues involved.

Well if noone is addressing the issue directly, what's the point?

there is no point, however to say about comparisons:

"It's changing the subject to something that has little relevance to the complexities of the issues involved.

isn't right.

actually, comparisons help simplify complex issues.

so i continue to believe that asking if abortion is health care and frame it around "pulling a decayed tooth vs. pulling a perfectly good tooth" is a much better comparison than carpet bombing.

And yet from the Right:

deathpenalty11.jpg

You could easily turn it around to "the left". Although they are both pathetic attempts at demonizing a political party, I see far more hypocrisy in being anti-life/anti-war (ie: want to kill own flesh and blood / not want to kill TERRORISTS) vs. pro-life/pro-war (ie: not want to kill own flesh and blood / want to kill terrorists)

deathpenalty11-1.jpg

Demonetization? Or a joke that hits a little too close to the truth?

The OP certainly was a bit of a demonization hatchet job...

There is a correlation between being Hawkish, and being Pro-Life, regardless of party affiliation, but I like your play on the image I posted. And my post got the thread rolling!

Everybody knows "abortion" is the sacrament of Feminism..... they aint about to stand by and let the Sacrament

be dismissed as anything less than a "human right" concerning Healthcare.

Since the opposition to Abortion seems to only grow in national polling, this could be a undoing of Obama-Care.

Wouldn't that be sweet if their greed cost them the touch down?

i would agree.

Unless it is deemed medically necessary, it is an elective surgery and shouldn't be covered. (i wasn't even aware that private insurance companies were covering it... ) And as you stated, there are already resources in place for such services...

Also worth noting that since 1976, no Federal Funds are used for abortion services. The Democrats putting up a fuss over this amendment are being short-sighted. This isn't about rights, it's about funding.
