Medical Exam Concerns With AOS, I-693

Hi Everyone,

A couple more questions here:

I am almost ready to send out the AOS package, and we just got to the Medical Exam stuff.

1) My wife came here as my fiance on a K1, with her 9 year old daughter on a K2. Both had medical exams by a civil surgeon within the last year. We can't find the documents from the civil surgeon anywhere and are starting to wonder if they took and kept them either at the time of her interview in Brazil or upon entering the US when we had to go past a couple of Immigration Officers. From what I can tell on VJ, it looks like we can use this medical exam (since it's within the last year), but still need to have a civil surgeon here look at it and fill out a new form, sign and seal it and then we submit this. Is this correct? Are we supposed to see a civil surgeon again? If we can't find the documents from the original visit with a Civil Surgeon, do we have to do that all over again? Is this info on record and I really don't need to send it in? HELP!!!

2) At the time of my wife's medical exam, she was pregnant and couldn't get a couple of vaccine's or shots she needed. Will we need to do another medical exam to cover these areas?

3) If we do need to do new medical exams at this point (either partial for my wife or full for both her and her daughter), and perhaps some vaccinations, we are in a bit of a bind. We are very late in sending in our AOS (we got married after coming here, shortly thereafter had a baby and got sidetracked). It's been 8 months since my now-wife (then fiance) and her daughter arrived and I'm ready to send in everything with the exception of this medical stuff, which was an oversight on my part (along with not submitting AOS documents for this long in general). I REALLY want to send in everything right now and recently someone on VJ told me we would be fine as long as it USCIS received everything before we reached the 9 month point (6 months after the I-94 expired). If we do need to do another medical (partial or full) I am concerned with the time this will further delay our sending in our AOS and we are quickly coming up on 9 months. In this case, could I send in the AOS package minus the I-693 and medical exam stuff, do the medical, await an RFE, and then submit the missing medical documents? My thought is that if we do this, at least we're in the system as having submitted out AOS documents. Thoughts? Help? Also, we are hoping to get an early travel release (I-131 Application for Travel)for an upcoming trip - would not sending in our medical delay that?

THANKS ALL YOU GREAT VJ FOLKS!!!

K

Go get the I-693 filled out by the civil surgeon they will give her the shots she needs that she is missing and fill out the vaccination section stating that she completed her shots. If the medicals are still good ( within the year ) then you only need the vaccination filled out and signed by the civil surgeon. Just get the updated shots that she needs.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

This is good. I'm still unclear about one thing: we can't find the papers from the original civil surgeons visit - is that info on record, or are we supposed to have it in hand (again, we think that we might have handed over those documents either at our interview in Brazil or at point of entry into the US).

Thanks!
