I was coming home from work on my bike, and I heard this almighty scraping, creaking, crash. Weird!!! I thought it was a bunch of skateboarders approaching. I looked behind me and saw...

a fallen tree, that a car driver had also just managed to escape from, although their car was covered in the smaller braches. I turned around and helped the elderly lady to recover from the shock of this near miss. Just as I cycled off, she gave me a big hug and said she was glad I was ok - I was very glad she was ok too. Weird stuff like this doesn't happen to me.

Yes, it does happen to you. This is why you should always carry a gun. I wonder, if you and the lady weren't there, would the tree have made any noise?

You mean like........a rotten tree that just decided to fall over at that moment?

It wasn't rotten. I should have taken a picture. It wasn't a huge tree, big enough but not huge but the tree branches all looked green and healthy. There must have been wind damage or something that took place before today, but it wasn't even windy when it fell.

It was an attempted hate crime and a terrorist attack by a tree. I'll alert the media! There must be other trees out there planning to do the same thing!
