Hi everyone

Well yesterday i called the embassy and thank God the woman at the embassy was in a good mood. and she was very nice and friendly to me .

I told her it has been almost 8 months since my interview and still nothing .she asked me for my case number .and she says ''Mr Mohamed yes ? i said yeah she says everytime you send us emails we answer your and your fiancee's emails.

I told her i know that you guys did but its really not enough at all .

Cause it has been almost 8 months and we have heard nothing from you but administrative processing .so whats going on ? whats wrong? she says we just put you under AP and its normal .i said i have seen people got their visa after 4 days and we have been waiting since March and you say its normal!! she says every case is different ..........and if you talk about people who got their visas after 4 days why you don't talk about people who got their visas after more than a year!

I asked her if the embassy is going to send our case back to USA for more further review so it will expire and they will cancel it there? she says NOOO we are not going to do that .

I asked her how long is going to take ?.....what kinda administrative processing do you really do ? if they do that in USA or in Egypt ?

Well in fact i felt like she knows and she wanted to tell me but she says I'm sorry i can not talk about that .cause the consular officers told us to not talk about details.but once the AP is complete we will issue you the visa .

My fiancee called DOS to check on our case and well we got 2 stories :-

First story is the woman at DOS told my fiancee that the embassy transferred our case from Non-immigration visa to immigration visa .and they did that to make our case go faster .and they are waiting for the clearance from WA-DC .

Does that make any sense to anyone of you ? its my first time to hear about that .the embassy transferred a case from Non-immigration visa to immigration visa!!!!

Second story is :-my fiancee called DOS again to make sure about what that woman told her .

the woman at DOS told her yes the embassy transferred the case.and it does not mean it will be faster .and they are done with the clearance and they just want to do more AP and its up to them now not to WA-DC!!!!!

Does that make any sense at all ?

why the embassy transferred our case from Non-immigration visa to immigration visa ?

BTW I'm a K1 visa

Thank you so much everyone .

Have a nice blessed day everyone .

Mohamed

I dont know what to tell you except I cant see how they can tranfer from a Non-Immigrant visa to a Immigrant visa, after all your not married. And being not married there is no K3 involved which is a Non Immigrant visa for marriage beneficiarys.

Has you all contacted the Directors office in Washington? I have a email address to the assistant. PM me and I will send to you if you want.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Mohamed, I know we haven't been in the process as long as you and Trina have been...but from what I understand is that K1 is treated like an immigrant visa in Cairo.. We check our case status on the embassy's website in the immigrant visas section, we send emails to consularcairoIV (immigrant visas)@... While I was at DHL to send packet 3 back the DHL guy asked me for the case number I said: "I don't think I have it with me at moment", the guy asked if my visa is an immigrant or non-immigrant one..I replied that it's a non-immigrant visa supposedly.. The guy asked me if it starts with CRO, I replied yes.. Then he told me if it starts with CRO then it's an immigrant visa and I must give him the case number... So K1 is handled like an immigrant visa.. It's just names you know.. I really don't know what they told and Trina means, but it probably won't make any difference I guess.. But it still is so weird....

ROC Timeline

8/1/12: ROC window opens
9/4/12: ROC packet sent
9/8/12: ROC packet delivered to VSC
9/12/12: Check cashed
9/14/12: NOA letter received (NOA dated 9/10/12)
9/20/12: Biometrics letter received (Bio appointment 10/15/12)
10/12/12: Early biometrics walk-in

4/27/13: RFE received

6/17/13: RFE response sent

7/1/13: ROC petition approved

7/5/13: GC received in the mail.

Well in fact all of K visas are Non-immigrant visas ''K1,K2,K3''but the funny thing is these kinda visas processed by the immigrant visa unites cause the visa applicant does intend to immigrate and move to USA !

Check what DOS say about K1 visa!!

Nonimmigrant Visa for a Fiance(e) (K-1

Does that make any sense ?! LOL i know its very confusing .

Thats right and when you will go to your interview inshaallah the guard at the embassy will you you to make 2 lines one for Non-immigrant visa and one for immigrant visa and must to to immigrant line .

Anyway i will try to figure out what the heck is going on ?!!

I hope that you will get an interview date soon .

Not really sure, but I know that our K3 was issued out of the immigrant visa department even though it's non-immigrant. However, I heard from another VJ'er recently that her husband's K3 visa was transferred from the immigrant section to the NON-immigrant section in order to be "issued more quickly", so who knows?
