Joe, there is no point to your questions. You have fundamentally misunderstood the point of not labelling this man a terrrorist and why the phrase allahu Akbar can't be used as an indicator of evil intent. Not one thing I can do about that, your mind is closed. The only suggestion I have for you is to take up reading, and not simply reading internet bloggs, but real books.

Ahh - I thought you had risen above childish liberal insults. I guess not.

You won't answer them, because you know the answer doesn't fit well with your argument.

I understand.

If you shout Allah Ackbar on a plane what would happen to you? If you shouted Hallelujia what would happen to you? Other than dirty looks...

On the other hand, (if it ever came up) probably best to avoid hollering 'Hi' to anyone named Jack as he passes in the aisle..(just say'n)

There weren't millions of Jacks... thats the difference.

Lighten up... and actually there are about 486k people named Jack and over 5M named John (which are often nicknamed Jack) in the US alone.

If people take the shout as proof positive of his terrorist nature, you might reasonably wonder why the FBI bothered to investigate him and determine that he was not involved in terrorist activities.

We've had 8 years of an administration that has twisted legal definitions to suit its own ends as a pretext to sending old men and kids to Guantanamo Bay - so its no wonder that there is confusion among members of the public as to what is or isn't terrorism.

Terrorism has always been associated with the activities of organized paramilitary groups, not lone individuals. If we start down this road - we might as well call bank robbers, serial killers and disgruntled postal workers terrorists. At some point sanity has to prevail and while terrorists certainly do commit heinous crimes, evil-doing doesn't require one to be a terrorist.

There is a serious point to this - the laws that supposedly exist to combat terrorism have actually made it easier for Law Enforcement to treat people as terrorists for "crimes" that appear at a glance to be rather innocuous. Forget blowing up a building, you can be detained under the terrorism laws if you chain yourself to a McDonalds restaurant as part of a sit down protest.

No Joe, you really do not. Ignorance is not an insult, it is a state of education. You are clearly uneducated. That's a fact. You can find that insulting, or you can do something about it. That is your choice.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I don't care who backs me. Truth doesn't need backing. I'm right because what I say is true. It doesn't need mentioning and I know you'll foam at the mouth over it, but I get plenty of supportive messages in my inbox. Not sure why they're so afraid to say it here, but I'm not going after them on that.

"I'm right because what I say is true." classic! As for "truth doesn't need backing" you make inaccurate & often offensive comments numerous times a day & when called out on it (as I did yesterday with direct quotes) you reply with more BS... no facts, no proof (e.g. like when you called me anti-American & couldn't provide a single sentence as evidence, yet you consistently make offensive comments like comparing Obama to Osama Bin Laden). Oh yea let's not forget that you also lied about saying that I defend terrorists (nice one, given my military service). You are ignorance personified & don't realize it because you are devoid of self awareness. I wonder why the closet right wing extremists are afraid to publicly back you?

You're so "moderate" and to make a point will kiss or kick the rear ends of both sides (contradicting yourself saying you loved Reagan, and you also love Obama - Polar opposites). But everyone knows you are in love with Obama.

As for Reagan & Obama you can't comprehend my views because you are blatantly partisan. Some people vote for the candidate, not the party. I liked Reagan because he made our nation better (just like I disliked Bush because he made it worse). The jury is still out on Obama.

Its really very simple. Allah Ackbar strikes fear in people for a reason.

Hallelujia does not. For those that are using it - If Northern Ireland is your crutch, then its a very weak one indeed.

Not really sure what point you are trying to make, but I haven't said anything about Northern Island other than it's :ot:

You should be lumped in with Michael Moore, Rosie Odonnell, James Carville, etc etc.

Nice try, but I can't stand Michael Moore & Rosie O'Donnell (dislike them as much as I dislike Limbaugh & Coulter). Don't really know much about James Carville, other than he's a Democrat married to a Republican.

Summary: FAIL!

I didn't say it was "proof" I said its a tipoff, and the thread is "the significance of..."

The significance of it in Islam is perfectly fine. It can be an indicator when one says it prior to slaughtering people. Thats all I'm saying. I'm not saying to profile everyone on the streets who says it. People on planes will be regardless anymore, but thats another example.

I'm educated just fine. Made it through the indoctrination system safely, and even learned a little bit.

But again, its your copout when you don't want to answer my questions or refute what I said.

"you're not educated"

"do your homework"

"you lack critical thinking"

All default responses when you can't debate a subject.

Your response illustrates your willful ignorance.

Ignorance isn't always tied directly to education... my dad has a high school diploma but he can speak intelligently about many topics. Joe is ignorant because he chooses to be close-minded & is threatened by anyone with a different point of view (calling anyone with a different view a "lib").

Without knowing Joe personally I would guess that he came from a very close-minded environment & formed his extreme views from an adult figure (perhaps his dad). Only Joe knows & since self awareness isn't his strong suit he won't admit the truth anyways.

I developed knowing the truth on my own. Thanks for the psycho-analysis though.

Are you a psychologist like Hasan? If not, you can't speak on the matter.

I'd say you don't have any strong suit, but the entire deck is missing. And you're right. Ignorance isn't always tied to education. As illustrated by the willful ignorance of the LIBS in this thread who claim to be "educated". However, they will use it as a form of argument when it suits their BS stories.

Thanks for proving my point B)

You seem inordinately obsessed with "liberals". Its really quite odd.

Maybe a "lib" beat him up daily & took his lunch money?
