There are no polls out that show what level of support the IRA has within the U.S.. I'm just going by my own experiences. If you think that Sinn Fein is just a political group and that they get a very small amount of money from a small minority of people in the U.S., you are deluded. The whole point of bringing up the IRA was to show the double standard when it comes to terrorism. How is it that Sinn Fein is even allowed to have fund raising events in the U.S.? Could you imagine Hamas being accorded the same treatment? What is the difference between Hamas and the IRA?

Try to prove a negative. Prove to me you didn't give money to the IRA yourself. See how dumb that statement is and multiply it by 300 million Americans that you claim potentially gave money. You only had the entire Internet at your disposal and still came up empty-handed.

Look Sinn Fein is the largest legal party in N. Ireland just as the Democratic Party is ruling legal party here. If you want to outlaw it go and do it and stop whining about its checkered past which I didn't deny. The neo-Nazis, Communist Party, Black Panthers, Nation of Islam are all legally operating in this country.

What's the difference between the IRA and Hamas? The IRA has been co-opted by the legal political process and Hamas hasn't been so far but they had to deal with the just as the PLO had to and vice versa. The American Muslim vote isn't as significant as the Israeli lobby so take it up with them.

Seriously, your completely full of sh!t. You really have no understanding about Sinn Fein, the IRA or anything related. But then again, I take it your neither from the east coast nor Irish. I never claimed there were any polls out there, in fact, I said it quite clearly at the beginning that there were none to be found. I did state my experiences. I have seen the adverts and queues of people for Gerry Adams' lectures as wel as the outright Sinn Fein fundraising events. They are quite substantive. Whether you believe me or not is neither my concern nor my problem. Just because you say it isn't so and wikipedia doesn't mention it doesn't mean anything other than you know nothing on the subject There aren't any polls out there plain and simple. I actually don't have the full internet at my disposal. I'm at work and only really have access to about 5-10% of it.

I do know the difference between Islam and extremism because they are incongruous to each other. Denouncing extremism by Muslims is fine with me; Im known to do the same. Well, Im a Muslim, a Palestinian and I say "Allahu Akbar" several times a day, so I must be a terrorist in training.

Allahu Akbar" means "God is great" and it part of the call to prayer broadcast 5 times a day all over the world. The bar for a Muslim being terrorist is pretty low, since a lot of non-Muslims are redefining our terms and practices to fit their fears and prejudices.

Actually, everybody who posted in this thread agrees that saying "Allahu Akbar" doesn't make you a terrorist. I guess you want to be seen as a misunderstood victim, but as far as I can tell, everybody understands you.
