I agree in part with many of the comments you made. There is a list with moderators and I are already discussing of Deputy Mods that meet what you defined as "good things to have". Other than if names on this list are in your social circle or not, I would have a hard time believing anyone will dispute that they are all excellent candidates.

That's all fine and good Ewok, and i hope the new crop of mods is up to par, I really do. but.... I just noticed something: what ever happened to the original plea from this thread? Namely, "take it to PM" instead of exchanging ideas on the forums?

For ideas that focus on the "site" and are not just a personal gripe then here is fine. If the whole purpose is to create "chaos" or be sarcastic then PM me as well. If I ask someone to at least start with talking to me via PM and they just turn around and post here -- that is the funnest .

Which is why the TOS says to use the contact form. While I slip on PMs sometimes, the contact form sends an email directly to my Blackberry and I will reply via email very quickly if required. I use the "later dude" blackberry program to schedule follow up reminders on important emails that may require me to follow up days later (or any time).
