processing times, just isnt fair :(

ok, so I just want to complain for a minute. I have been researching processing times and now I want to cry.<not really> But anyways... it just doesnt seem fair that the same Visa that I am applying for others are able to get it in an amazingly short amount of time. I was reading this one and he was from my same state filing for a K-3 spouse visa for his Russian Wife and they got approved in 53 days, same service center and everything... and then I was reading another one that gets approved in 14 days... Low and Behold... everyone with a spouse for India ... always getting approved in 7 , 8 months some even longer... I am extremly happy for the other ppl.. I dont want to sound to sour for them... I just wonder why it takes sooo long for some countries and sooo short for others... you would think that they would all have the same waiting time... I feel like a kid in a car on a cross country trip asking "Are we there yet?" what about now..... Are we there yet???

No we're not there yet.

Unfortunately it is a long process. We started in April and we will be lucky if we finish by the end of the year.

I guess all we can do is try to be patient with the process as difficult as that is.

It'll be alright. Everyones case is unique.

The USCIS has been processing cases really smoothly lately, India included. We sent our petition in March of '08' and it was approved in May '08'. So 2 months...not too bad but they can be approved in less time.

In our experience, after our first interview and being placed on AP, our case was returned all the way back to NVC then to USCIS for further review. It only took 4 months altogether for it to get back, be reviewed and then re-affirmed by USCIS. I don't think thats too bad, except of course the horrible nightmare of it being returned which really could have been avoided if we had done our research and had been better prepared for the 'what if's'.

There are a lot of those who's cases are from India and their cases are not taking very long to get to the Embassy. But then when it gets to the Embassy it is in their hands and depends on your own particular case as to whether it all goes smoothly or not.

Continue doing your research and try your best to stay away from the horror stories...you need to keep yourself in a positive frame of mind for your own sake and in the process you will make a lot of friends here to help you get through it.

Unfortunately, the USCIS will make you patient. If not you are in for a very long and miserable journey. Your NOA1 for the K3 is Nov. 4th and you are venting one week into the process.

Try to look at the opposite end of the spectrum. GoGo went the K3 route and it took them about 2 years.

yes, immigration was put in our lives to teach us patience. we have been in immigration since april 2008, and still waiting for hubby. granted, this is technically our second go around.

Patience indeed.....it is a very good lesson/virtue to learn. Just that the 'testing' of same can be a pain as we are all well aware.

Melody...you're going to get a lot of support here during your journey and when your patience has been sorely bruised, just vent it out as much as you like. I'm here if you ever need me.
