Copy of Marriage Certificate - Certified or not?

I think we made a huge mistake - my husband after arriving here and marrying me (thank you  ) on K1 has sent out AOS papers and among those he included "a copy of marriage certificate" as required in USCIS instructions. The only problem is that copy as some here suggested should be certified that is the one we got from the registrar. He filed a photocopy of that. What are we looking at here? RFE? Is it better/possible to sent an actual certified copy right now, a day after we sent out the papers or just wait and see what happens with non-certified photocopy of certified copy?

Sent a photocopy of my certified copy and have had no problems with my AOS as of yet. It has also been transfered to CSC.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

For all purposes you require certified copy of the marriage certificate. Since you just sent your papers in your file does not even have a case no. yet. If they send you NOA1 then you can send them the certified copy with the copy of your NOA1 receipt. If they send you an RFE before NOA1 then you can send your certificate copy.

I am not sure if you can send it right now but may be put your name, address etc, write a cover letter and mark on top of envelope copy of marriage certificate for AOS of XXX. But this is only how I am thinking, some more experienced Vjers might have seen somebody experience a similar case.

I already got our NOAs for I-485 and I-765 when i checked our AOS documents,I found out that the copy of the marriage certificate that i submitted is not the certified one,I dont know what's going to happen but our EAD has already been approved and mailed out already.

A photocopy is OK as long as it is of the official, registered, marriage certificate and is so marked.

Do not send anything unless, or until, you get an RFE. I doubt you will get an RFE for this.

We sent a photocopy because in the instructions it says copy, not certified copy. I followed all the instructions literally and we were approved for the green card at the end of July. No RFE and no interview.

Agreed - don't try to fix it unless it is officially broken.
