I'm decorating the Christmas tree. I wanted to have it done yesterday because it is tradition for us to put the tree up Dec 8th, which is The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, but we couldn't get the tree sooner because it had been raining for days. So finally we got it last night but it was too late to decorate. I'm going to get a head start by myself and wait for Justin to come home for the lights and ornaments. He comes back from work so late that it won't be enough time to get it all done if I wait for him for everything. We got a real tree and the house smells like pine. Cayenne already chewed up one of the lower branches last night -_-

Saludos,

Caro

Che, Caro, we do the same (I think it's an Argentine thing ) and yet we didn't get to finish the tree yesterday. :( We also are going to move it to our formal living room and keep it out of the munchkin's way. :star:

I am making a bunch of goodies next week.. I can't wait... :D

the lady I work for is buying a couple of tins of goodies from me to give away as gifts..

Marilyn, here's an idea for a good, easy treat and you'll only need unwrapped Rolo's, mini pretzel knots and pecans:

Preheat the oven to 250 F degrees.

Take a non-stick cookie sheet and place mini pretzels on the sheet, top each pretzel with a Rolo. Place in the oven for 3 minutes. Remove from oven and quickly top each Rolo with a pecan - press the pecan down gently. The Rolo will ooze out a little bit and create a pecan pretzel turtle. Tis awesome!!!!

sounds good.. I was going to make my own chocolates and I found a super easy recipe.. just melt some chocolate dipping wafers and add different stuff.. one of the ideas I had was to had some broken up pieces of pretzels... and I also though of rice krispies, dried cranberries, etc..

these are pretty good... you could add some nuts to it if you wanted to...

White Chip Orange Cookies

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1 large egg

2 to 3 teaspoons grated orange peel

1 cup white chocolate chips

PREHEAT oven to 350° F.

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg and orange peel. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

this is yummy... what I usually do instead of putting it in a pan is get little mini muffin liners and put the mixture in them...

White Chocolate Fudge

2 pkg. (6 squares each) BAKER'S Premium White Baking Chocolate

3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk

1 cup coarsely chopped PLANTERS Almonds, toasted

1/2 cup dried cranberries

1 Tbsp. grated orange peel

LINE 8-inch square pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides of pan; set aside. Microwave chocolate and milk in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 to 3 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted; stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add almonds, cranberries and orange peel; stir until well blended.

SPREAD chocolate mixture into prepared pan. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.

LIFT fudge from pan, using foil handles. Cut into 48 pieces. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator up to 3 weeks. (Do not freeze.)

*Variation

Prepare as directed, substituting 1 cup toasted PLANTERS Chopped Pecans for the almonds and 1/2 cup each chopped red and green candied cherries for the cranberries.
